Latest Ofsted Report
Please click the link to access our latest Ofsted report, from November 2021. We firmly dispute the findings of this inspection and asked for a number of changes to be made to the draft report; some of these were made and the final report is available below, althought the final grading remains unchanged. We made a detailed, formal complaint about the attitudes of the Lead Inspector and how the inspection was conducted. Click on the letter to read the reply from Ofsted. Unfortunately none of our objections were upheld, which is the response other schools have also found, when making complaints about the new Inspection framework and attitudes of Inspectors. It should be noted that the only evidence the investigating officer looked at were the notes written by the Lead Inspector.

Response from Ofsted, December 2021
We firmly believe we remain a 'Good' school. Our judgement is based on our end of year results, the day to day progress children make, our Safeguarding work and our Social, Emotional and Mental Health support for children, families and staff. We feel that the timing of the Inspection, right at the start of the new school year, after 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic and our children working in isolated bubbles had a negative impact on how much our children could recollect about their previous school experiences. Not a single child in our school currently has known a 'normal' Earlsheaton school year, but the impact of this was not taken into account by the Inspectors. Our curriculum is broad, balanced and creative, and we are committed to further developing this over the next 3 years to ensure children make as many links between their learning as they can. We are also proud of our drive to develop children's communication skills; children leave us as confident Speakers, Readers and Writers with a basic understanding of Makaton sign langage. We are fiercely proud of our children and delighted to have such strong support from families and the local community.
