Learning Accord Multi-Academy Trust
We are currently Associate Members of Learning Accord Multi-Academy Trust. This is a service MAT's offer to schools wanting to try out belonging to a Trust or who are in the process of formally joining.
Our Governing Body and Staff were aware the current government holds the expectation that all schools will become academies by 2030. Knowing this, we made the decision to start looking at what various Trusts had to offer, so we could choose one whose values and vision were closely matched to our own.
We invited a number of trusts to our Governing Body meetings and listened to their pitches. Some were an immediate, definate no. Some were a perhaps but we were delighted to find Learning Accord was the closest match with our school ethos.
We did all the official, required checks on them and they did the same with our school. We applied to the Regional Schools Commissioner for Yorkshire and Humber for permission to join Learning Accord and we were delighted to be granted this on 14th November 2023, with no hitches or hold ups.
Unfortunately, the conversion process has taken much longer than we expected due to capacity at Kirklees to provide what is legally required from them. Many of us involved in this process were frustrated by this hold-up, as we are keen for our school to benefit from full membership of Learning Accord. However, we have now been given a provisional conversion date of 1st November 2024.
We will keep parents and community updated with developments as soon as we are notified.
In the meantime you can look at the other schools which are part of the Trust and read about their ethos and values on their website: https://www.learningaccord.org/
